PURPOSE:To attain high density information recording by an optical tape not requiring any guide line by recording a position signal to plural parts on a recording information string formed with a scheduled angle in the running direction. CONSTITUTION:A new information string 102 is detected by an optical head sequentially so long as an optical tape 2 is run and a new tracking error signal is inputted one after another in integration devices 122, 123, then before the new information string is detected, the integration devices 122, 123 are reset and it is required to reduce the outputs Ie1, Ie2 to zero. Then a reset circuit 135 is provided to reset the integration devices 122, 123 every time a pulse train detection position signal Ps is inputted to the reset circuit 135. The detec tion position signal Ps is recorded at, e.g., a start point and/or an end point of a recording information string on the optical tape 2 as a start point/end point signal string at recording and generated from a reproducing signal. |
