The image memory contains a figure memory (FS) in which figure signals are entered in such a way that they are read out by selecting names assigned to the figures. Furthermore, there is an image list (BL) in which the names of the figures to be represented and the absolute coordinates of the representation location of the figure reference point are stored on the display screen. During reading out of the image list (BL), the figure memory (FS) is driven by the figure names read out from the image list. Graphic visual display units constitute the field of application of the invention. <IMAGE>
