In order to achieve trouble-free completion of the fully automatic workpiece delivery processes used in manufacturing and assembly devices by means of automatic elimination of malfunctions in the vibrational sorting conveyor, the latter comprises 2 vibrating systems of opposite effects in the conveyor devices. The possibility of conveying workpieces backwards for a short time facilitates elimination of a malfunction arising, for example, because of jamming of workpieces at the sorting elements. In certain cases, and depending on the geometrical shape of the workpieces, reliable elimination of the malfunction in the flow of workpieces can be achieved by reliably swinging the sorting element away sideways, together with a change in conveying mode, with or without vibration. Fully automatic operation of all operating cycles is possible via electrical sequence control.
