The unit in a mains-supplied thyristor drive where a motor (M) is energised by one or several thyristor bridges (S1, S2), consists of a current intensity measuring electronics (VM). A control circuit (VE), by the aid of which the thyristors' ignition pulses can be removed in the event of a short-circuit is also included. - In the supply voltage, R, S, T series inductances (of value L1) limit the magnitude of the short-circuit current surge. The device eliminates the chance of a fuse blowing and at the same time protects the thyristors against destruction.
