Feed apparatus is described for an injection moulding machine which comprises a cylinder 3 in which a hydraulically driven ramming piston is guided, the moulding material being introduced into the cylinder 3 through a filling passage 6 and pressed into a plasticising cylinder of the injection moulding machine by the ramming piston. The feed apparatus comprises a semicylindrical carrying dish 7 which is pivotable about a horizontal axis 11 by means of a pneumatic cylinder 14 controlled by the ramming piston, the filled carrying dish being pivoted into the emptying position through approximately 130 DEG when the ramming piston is withdrawn and guided by a slot 13. Alternatively the feed apparatus may comprise an endless driven conveyor mounting a plurality of carrying dishes filled with moulding material, each dish being brought in turn above the filling passage. The dishes are pivotably attached to the conveyor and are caused to pivot, for emptying into the cylinder, about a horizontal axis through approximately 180 DEG . <IMAGE>
