PURPOSE:To enable a button-type alkaline battery to be transferred by magnetic suction by forming a battery case for the battery also serving as a negative terminal by the use of a magnetic steel containing almost no nickel and more than a specified quantity of chromium. CONSTITUTION:A negative electrode 2 made of an amalgamated zinc powder is installed in a case 1 which also serves as a negative terminal and is formed by the use of a magnetic steel containing almost no nickel and more than 15wt% chromium. After the thus obtained body is combined with a positive electrode 4 containing manganese dioxide as a principal active material and installed in a case 3 also serving as a positive terminal, an electrolyte holding member 5 and a separator 6, the battery is airtightly sealed through a gasket 7, thereby constituting a button-type alkaline battery. As a result, since the negative case 1 has a magnetic property, the battery can be transferred by use of the magnetic suction of a magnet of the like during the manufacturing process thereby enabling the manufacturing efficiency to be greatly improved. |
