PURPOSE:To enable brazing in the atmosphere by plating nickel or nickel alloy at a thickness in a specific range over roughly the entire part of spectacle frame parts made of titanium or a titanium alloy having a prescribed shape then brazing and assembling the parts. CONSTITUTION:A plating layer of an Ni-(2-15)Pd alloy or Pd-(30-50)Ni alloy in addition to pure nickel is formed at 10-200mu thickness roughly over the entire part of primary parts consisting essentially of titanium such as a Ti-6Al-4V alloy or Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy in addition to pure titanium. A noble metal is then plated thereon after or before brazing. The brazing to the nickel, nickel alloy plating or noble alloy plating can be accomplished in the atmosphere by using silver solder, gold solder, etc. The heating for brazing is eaccomplished by a high frequency induction heating or electrical heating method, and the parts are heated for 2-10sec at the melting temp. of the brazing material or above and <=1,100 deg.C at which the alloying with titanium is effected and the adhesion of the plating layer can be improved. The stripping of the plating layer by the effect of a flaw is thus prevented. |
