Apparatus for forming articles such as one-piece pipe insulator sections from a longitudinally advancing strip-shaped felt of fibrous material containing hardenable bonding material has a die for sliding contact with the felt along the length of the felt during advance of the felt along the die. To facilitate replacement, the die comprises a plurality of separable die sections which are readily releasably secured in mutual longitudinal alignment along the path of advance of the felt. the die is formed with openings for the flow of hot gas through the felt for curing the latter. |
