PURPOSE:To regenerate effectively a strong basic anion exchange resin used for refining an aq. soln. of the resulted product of fermentation by treating said resin with an aq. mixture of hydrochloric acid and common salt then treating the same with an aq. casutic soda soln. CONSTITUTION:The strong basic anion exchange resin used for refining of an aq. soln. contg. polysaccharide obtd. by culturing of bacteria, more particularly preferably an aq. soln. contg. the polysaccharide obtd. by culturing a Pseudomonas Polysaccharogenus M-30 bacteria is treated with an aq. mixture of 0.1- 1 normal hydrochloric acid and 4-9% common salt and is then treated with an aq. soln. contg. 4-8% caustic soda. An I type strong basic anion exchange resin of a styrenedivinyl benzene copolymer is used as the above-mentioned anion exchange resin. The above-mentioned regeneration treatement contributes to a considerable restoration in the adsorptivity of the ion exchange resin; for example, the desalting powder, that is, neutral salt decomposing ability, of the resin is restored to >=80% the power of the unused resin. |
