PURPOSE:To make a slide switch or the like unnecessary to reduce the space cost, by utilizing the relation between a display state and positions of input keys to select a mode with input keys. CONSTITUTION:When power source is turned on, the display state where an operation mode of the device should be determined is set on a display device 2, and the operator is inquired which mode is selected from a check mode, a credit card mode, and a computer mode. The input key nearest to one of displayed operation modes is operated to select the operation mode. That is, the check mode is selected when an input key 7 is turned on, and the credit card mode is selected when an input key 9 is turned on, and the computer mode is selected when an input key C/ON is turned on. |
