The invention described here is an arrangement to prevent the overfilling of a tank when the tank is filled up to a predetermined liquid level with liquid from a can. The can is provided with a filling pipe, which is to be inserted through an aperture situated in the tank as the latter is filled, and with a deaeration channel, one end of which opens out inside the tank. The invention is characterised in that the choice of material and the design of the can prevents the changing of can volume when moderate changes in pressure occur, i.e. pressure changes which occur when the tank is filled from the can. Inside the can the filling pipe is bent so that its two openings open in the same direction, the inside opening being most advantageously situated in the vicinity of the height at which the pipe enters the can. The end of the deaeration channel opens out into a region of the can where the air is first accumulated when the can is being emptied. The other end of the deaeration channel opens out in the vicinity of the outside opening of the filling pipe. |
