PURPOSE:To increase the yield of material and to improve productivity by forming a blank material by cross roll forging to an intermediate forging, subjecting the same to rough finishing by TR forging and forming the rough finished material by closed forging into a finish shape. CONSTITUTION:A blank material M cut to a prescribed length is heated to a prescribed forging temp. in a heating furnace and is formed to a roll-shaped intermediate forgming M1 while the volume is precisely distributed by cross roll forging; at the same time, excess end materials m1, m1 are cut off from the main body M1. Said material is subjected to the rough finish forming wherein the larger ends are subjected to upsetting and U-shaping working simultaneously by TR forging. Such material is finish formed of detailed parts by closed forging in the final stage, whereby a forged connecting rod C is obtd. The deburring stage is thus eliminated and the yield of material is improved. |
