PURPOSE:To contrive simplification and lightening weight of a title structure increase durability by providing a bulkhead, dividing the box type body into fore and after chamber, made entirely of concrete, installing a plural number of connecting ports in the upper barrier and bulkhead in the respective chambers. CONSTITUTION:The floating wave dissipation structure floats on the sea surface L with the fore and after buoyancy tanks 11 completely submerged under the sea level L, and the lower part of the bulkhead 15 also submerged below the sea surface L. When the wave approaches, it strikes against the forward wall 15a with the water column in respective chambers 14 of the main body 10 rising and falling, thereby absorbing the wave energy. The air in the space above the seal level L in the respective chambers 14 goes in and out to and from the ports 16 provided in the upper wall 10c of the main body 10, and wave energy is consumed by the frictional force of the air going in and out. By this method not only can a maintenance-free floating wave dissipation structure be obtained but the construction of the floating wave dissipation structure can be simplified and the weight reduced.
