PURPOSE:To produce a multiple track erase head extremely easily by forming plural grooves deeper than gap depth and shorter than the distance up to winding parts with prescribed spaces, inserting non-magnetic materials into the grooves and then by grinding the tape sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:The plural grooves 4 extended in the direction approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of gaps (g) from the tape sliding side, deeper than the gap depth (d) and shorter than the distance up to the winding 3 part are formed on the basic material for an erase head with prescribed spaces to produce the intermediate product for a multiple track erase head. The non- magnetic materials 5 are embedded into the grooves 4 and the tape sliding surface is ground to produce the tape sliding surface provided with a prescribed shape. |
