PURPOSE:To prevent impurities in steam from adhering to the stem of a valve so as to ensure the smooth action of the valve, by providing a grease cup in the outlet side of a shaft seal box, which supports the stem of the steam valve, and exposing the surface of the valve stem in grease in the cup. CONSTITUTION:Bearing bushes 15-17 are fitted in a shaft seal box 14 is slidably supporting the valve stem 11 of a valve for a geothermal steam turbine. A grease cup 20, in the inside of which a grease chamber 22 is equipped, is mounted on the outlet side of the shaft seal box 14. Grease is supplied through a grease supply hole 23 and a grease pipe 24 communicated to the grease chamber 22. If the valve is opened and closed, the grease, which adheres to the surface of the valve stem 11 exposed in the grease chamber 22, is introduced to and held in an oil holding groove in the bearing bushes, thus it becomes possible to prevent malfunction of the valve caused by impurities in geothermal steam adhering to the surface of the valve stem. |
