PURPOSE:To raise a running property of a tape by using metallic parts which is subjected to a surface treatment by a gaseous phase coating method, for a tape sliding part, and coating an inorganic thin film to a tape guide part or a guide pole part by a PVD method or a CVD method. CONSTITUTION:An outstanding characteristic of this tape is to use metallic parts which are subjected to gaseous phase coating, for a tape guide part or a guide pole part. The gaseous phase coating signifies a PVD method (Physical Vapor Deposition) or more concretely speaking, a method for coating an inorganic thin film by vapor-deposition sputtering, ion plating, etc., a method for coating an inorganic thin film by a CVD method (Chemical Vapor Deposition), and a method for coating an inorganic thin film by a plasma polymerizing method. A VHS type tape guide is prepared by a nonmagnetic stainless steel, and a Tin thin film is coated by 2mu by the PVD method. Or SiO2 is coated by 2mu by the CVD method. |
