PURPOSE:To improve the complexity of a recording and reproducing circuit compressing a sound signal in accordance with time and recording the compressed sound signal in an overlapping part by switching signals to be written in a video track and the overlapping part by an output from a recording current setting circuit and a pilot signal. CONSTITUTION:A sound FM processor 3 converts a sound signal into a sound FM signal AFM. An adjuster 64 sets up the recording current of a sound FM signal, a low frequency chrominance signal and a pilot signal collectively. Terminals 52, 53, 54 show the input terminals of the sound FM signal, the low frequency chrominance signal and the pilot signal respectively. The circuit constitution is simplified by adjusting the sound FM signal, the low frequency signal and the pilot signal, keeping the pilot signal on an overlapping track in which a recording level is not severe without adjustment, connecting the level adjuster for said three kinds of signals to the input side of switches 74, 81 and the output side of a mixing circuit, and connecting recording current setters 57, 58 for the sound signal and a luminance signal to the input side of the switches 74, 81. |
