PURPOSE:To produce a compound-colored alloy for decoration having a characteristic color tone by dispersing and casting ceramic particles of adequate grain sizes which are metallized on the surface in a molten metal which is lower in m.p. than said particles and is different in color tone thereform. CONSTITUTION:The surfaces of ceramic particles of 0.2-3mm.phi grain sizes are metallized beforehand by an electroless plating method, a calcining method of metallic paste, etc. and thereafter the particles are dispersed and cast in a molten metal which is lower in m.p. than said particles and is different in color tone therefrom, thereby forming a compound-colored alloy having good surface gloss, corrosion resistance and a specific color tone without discoloration, etc. Said ceramic particles are required to have the particles sizes in the above- mentioned range in order to obtain a decorative effect. The wettability between the ceramic and the metal is improved and the adhesive strength at the boundary is improved by metallizing the surfaces of said particles. |
