The machine according to the invention is constituted by a framework 1 constituted by a long plate with two parallel and symmetrical faces carrying, in cantilever fashion, on the right and on the left respectively, all of the devices and equipments participating in the movement and guidance of the tape 2 which supports the labels 3, 3', 4, 4' and in particular the feed spool 8, the guide bobbins 12, 13 and 22, the depositing plate 14 mounted at the end of an arm whose angular position is adjustable, the pull roller 23 which is associated with the counter-pressure bearing 24 and 25 mounted on a floating shaft 43 and finally the rewinding spool 26, on an opposite and symmetrical face there are mounted the drive devices, in particular the motor connected to the spindle of the winding drum 23 by the intermediary of a clutch device and a magnetic brake; a balance arm 11 comprising the two stable positions 11 and 11' respectively allows the feeding of the machine with labels from a spool indifferently carrying the labels in either the centripetal or centrifugal position on the wound support tape. Application to the production of machines for the automatic placing of labels at a high rate and with great accuracy. <IMAGE>
