The objective of the invention is to make more efficient, by a prolonged duration, the existing processes for absorbing moisture from air with calcium chloride. The aim is to protect for as long as possible and not to desiccate. To attain it, the contact of air with calcium chloride must be slowed down; by employing the presentation in the form of flat flakes which are tamped or which are compressed, which has the effect of reducing the entry of air within the mass; by reducing the contact of air with the outer surface of the mass present in a sheath, by employing one or more sheaths reducing the air flow, a receptacle provided with adjustable aeration openings.
