AUTOMATIC FACSIMILE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To obtain a receive picture of high picture quality according to the contents of a transmit original by setting scanning line density at a terminating transmission-side device according to a mode setting signal sent from an originating reception-side device. CONSTITUTION:An operator sets a mode of scanning line density by an operating circuit 12 for the setting of transmit scanning line density from a reception side, and a control circuit 14 generates a digital transmission instruction signal DTC by a signal processing circuit 13 according to the set mode and sends it to a called facsimile device side. The called facsimile device side receives the signal DTC through a demodulating circuit 16 and inputs it to a signal processing circuit 13 to perform analytic processing. The circuit 14 generates a digital instruction signal DCS according to the signal DTC and also controls a reading circuit 10 to set a mode of scanning line density. The originating side device controls respective parts of the device by this signal DCS. Consequently, even when nobody attends to the transmission-side device, the receive recording picture of high picture quality is obtained according to the contents of the transmit original.
