NOVEL BACTERIAL STRAIN AND PREPARATION OF CYCLIC BETA-1,2-GLUCAN USING THE SAME

摘要

PURPOSE:To prepare a cyclic beta-1.2-glucan, in high efficiency, by culturing a novel microbial strain belonging to Agrobacterium genus, and lacking in the productivity of extracellular acidic polysaccharides or their constituent components and/or extracellular water-insoluble polysaccharides. CONSTITUTION:A novel bacterial strain belonging to Agrobacterium genus and lacking in the productivity of extracellular acidic polysaccharides or their constituent components and/or extracellular water-insoluble saccharides, i.e. Agrobacterium radiobacter A1-5 (FERM-P No.6771), is inoculated in a nutrient medium, and cultured at 20-40 deg.C and 5-8 pH under aerobic condition. The objective cyclic beta-1,2-glucan is separated from the culture liquid.
