This module serves as a container for printed-circuit boards, accepts the various systems for connecting these boards for the mounting as required of adaptation components and can be mounted in existing standardised structures. Monobloc structure, the module comprises identical walls 1-1', 2-2', in pairs, which are constituted by one or more cross-pieces 5 determining between them free spaces 3-3', 4-4', the surface area of which is greater than that occupied by the material of the walls. Indentations 8 serve to house the fixing elements for solidly attaching two juxtaposed or superposed modules. The openings 15 and the indentations 17 enable adaptation components to be fixed, rendering the module specific for a given use. The invention finds particular application in equipment used in telephone exchanges. <IMAGE>
