PURPOSE:To obtain the picture of granular material and to find the distribution of grain size by analyzing the picture by dropping the granular material and repeating linear scanning using a high speed one-dimensional image sensor. CONSTITUTION:A high speed one-dimensional image sensor 1 is provided to the side of a freely dropping granular material M so as to scan horizontally from a transverse direction. A still picture is formed by synthesizing scanning images obtained by repeating scanning and stored by processing suitably by a picture storage device 3 and if required, displayed on a CRT 4. The picture is analyzed by a picture analyzing device 5 and a diameter is calculated to carry out a desired data processing. Further, the histogram of grain size is displayed on a CRT 6 and the measured result of the grain size is printed out by a printer 7. Continuous light such as lighting may be used and a stroboscope etc. is unnecessary because an illuminator 2 is one-dimensional scanning. |
