PURPOSE:To prevent fast consumption of an electron emission material by tightly winding inner coil, while winding outer coil so as not to touch the inner coil ad forming a gap between both and then fully filling the gap with the electron emission material. CONSTITUTION:An inner coil 6 is tightly wound round a winding core. Then, after an outer coil is formed by winding and arranging a gap formation member on the inner coil 6 and looping the winding end of the inner coil and then tightly winding it on the gap formation member, both coils are separated from the winding core and the gap formation member is removed after chemically processing it. Subsequently, the remainder 9 of a coil is put in a container 10 made of stainless mesh and is dipped in the electron emission material suspension 12 in a pressure reduction container 11 and then the gap formed between the inner and outer coils 6 and 7 is fully filled with the electron emission material 8. Subsequently, after the electron emission material is dried in the pressure reduction container 11, an electrode core 5 is inserted in the inner coil 6 and the electron emission material adhering to the surface of the outer coil is wiped out. As a result, the temperature of the electron emission material while lighting a discharge lamp can be decreased and its life span can be extended. |
