<p>Improved rubber composition. It is produced by mixing 100 parts by weight of a rubber constituent with 25 to 250 parts by weight of carbon black belonging to the category of furnace carbon black, with a mean particle diameter dn, in an electron microscope, greater than 31 millimicrons, an iodine absorption value of 35 to 60 mg/g and a dibutyl phthalate DBP absorption value of 90 to 150 ml/100 g, and which additionally has the property of having a modal diameter Dst m mu which is smaller than the value obtained using the following equation: Dst = (2.65 x dn) + (0.64 x DBP) - 27.56 This composition, which simultaneously has low heat accumulation and high reinforcement properties, is particularly suited for the manufacture of carcasses of motor vehicle tyres and of treads.</p> |
