PURPOSE:To prevent water incorporated in a refrigerant from freezing and to prevent metal in the refrigerant passage from being corroded by water incorporated in the refrigerant, by adding propylene glycol and benzothiazole to flon R-12 used as the refrigerant. CONSTITUTION:0.9-20pts.wt. propylene glycol and 0.002-10pts.wt. benzothiazole are added to 1,000pts.wt. flon R-12 to obtain the desired refrigerant. In this way, even when water is incorporated through the film of flexible hose, etc. in the refrigerant, water can be prevented from freezing by the water freezing-inhibiting action of propylene glycol. Metal in the refrigerant passage can be effectively prevented from being corroded by the corrosion-inhibiting action of benzothiazole. Solid desiccant in receiver can be omitted from conventional air conditioning system and hence the cost can be reduced. |
