The installation relates to a device for suppressing the noise produced by the passage of wheels over the expansion joints of the rails of railway lines. This device comprises the forming on each part of the rail 1 and 2 with expansion joint 3, a recess 5 into which a key 4, which may or may not be fixed in one of the ends of a rail, the other remaining free, is inserted. The expansion joint 3 remains, but the laying of the key 4 suppresses the repetitive noise each time the joint 3 is passed over. <IMAGE>
