PURPOSE:To obtain an economical round cutting tool capable of being used through its entire lifetime with a simple shape and excellent rigidity by providing a notching part on the tip end of a round bar body. CONSTITUTION:A round tool body 6 is constituted by a rake surface 7, a front release surface 8, and a tip braker surface 12. Any workpiece 1 can be processed by fixing the round cutting tool 6, and turning said workpiece. The outside diameter of the round cutting tool 6 is smaller than that of a processing hole 2, presenting an angle alpha of side relief. When the workpiece 1 is turned under this situation, and the round cutting tool is fed in along the axis center of the workpiece, an edge line 9 acting as the cutting blade and a tip blade edge 11 smoothly cut the internal peripheral surface of the hole 2. Cut chips are curled by striking the tip braker surface 12, and discharged. |
