Device for actuating a swivel arm of an accessory component of electrical toy and model railway systems, in particular a barrier of a railway crossing or a mechanical signal, with a speed-transforming gear which is connected between the swivel arm and an electrical control motor and comprises a braked slide rod on which a driver component of the gear engages via spring elements in such a way that the driver component and the slide rod can at certain times lead or follow one another in their movement, a slide which is actuated by the electric control motor bearing at the side a toothed bar which via a gear wheel speed-transformation displaces a toothed bar which lies opposite, is mounted parallel to the slide rod and bears the driver component, and the slide is connected on the side opposite the slide rod to a second toothed bar which is also parallel to it and intermeshes with a gear wheel of the speed-transforming gear. <IMAGE>
