PURPOSE:To permit the setting of plural developing devices to respective adjusted positions or the retreat of the devices therefrom by one operation by housing a developing unit into an integral case, holding the integral case in the specified position with respect to a photosensitive drum and making the case in such a manner that the case can be spaced from the drum. CONSTITUTION:The integral case 70 is connected to a shaft 81 provided to a device body after the developing devices 42, 43, 44 are respectively inserted into the insertion parts thereof. A position adjusting screw 43 is pressed to a stationary shaft 76 by a compression spring 75 supported at one end of a stationary column 74 in the case 70 so that a developing sleeve 43f can be automatically installed to the already adjusted developing device 43. The case 70 is automatically moved in parallel toward the right by the tension of a tension spring 76 and is moved to the largely spaced position when a hook member 86 is turned clockwise by a releasing lever connecting to a shaft 83.
