PURPOSE:To bring a rear wheel steering into an automatic control mode during running at a middle and a high speed and to ensure running safety and maneuverability, by forcibly releasing a fixed mode from selection by detecting by means of a speed sensor that a speed exceeds a set value. CONSTITUTION:In response to signals from a front wheel steering angle sensor 17, a rear wheel steering angle sensor 19, a car speed sensor 18, and a switch circuit 25, a controller 16 controls a rear wheel steering device 7. A manual switch 20, selecting a fixed mode, and means 21 for deciding set car speed, employing a car speed sensor 22, are connected to the switch circuit 25, and even if a car starts in a condition that the fixed mode remains selected, the fixed mode is forcibly restored to an automatic control mode when a speed attains a set value. This prevents rear wheels from being steered in isophase with front wheels during running at a middle and a high speed, and this prevents any loss of running safety and maneuverability. |
