The adjustment of a window opening in a continuously variable way is effected by an adjusting pin with an Archemedian profile. The main linkage (11) is coupled to the window at one end and via a pivot pin (12) to a shorter linkage (13) at the other (14). This shorter linkage is operated on by a sliding adjustment block (15). The block is profiled (24) at one end and a fixed location pin (19) is mounted adjacent to it. The pin has a cross-section with an Archemedian profile (20) and has a hand-wheel extension (16). The window opening is adjusted by turning the hand wheel to cause the pin to move the block (15) lengthways in the slot.
