Bipolar electrode pairs for electric storage batteries

A metallic strip is expanded over substantially its entire area and regularly longitudinally spaced portions are removed from the centre of the strip to form a plurality of spaced apertures 6 therein. Active electrode material is applied to the two halves of the strip and a plurality of cuts are formed in each half of the strip, the cuts extending substantially perpendicular to the direction of the length of the strip and being spaced apart by a distance substantially equal to the pitch of the apertures therein to form a plurality of integral bipolar electrode pairs.
