A deadeye 1 for a movable rope stay 11, one end of the rope stay being spliced at 13 onto the deadeye which by acting through a shackle 14 and pivot 18 is pivotable about a mast, the deadeye having peripheral rope-receiving grooves bounded by rims. The grooves are open at the truncated deadeye end where the rims are buttressed to the deadeye. The deadeye may be steered about the mast urged by movement of the stay 11. <IMAGE> |
