[Also in Division F2] A tap for a plastics bag 24 in a cardboard box 26 comprises a tubular body 10 with a pointed probe 4 having holes 8 which communicate with an outlet 18 of a passage 6, the open end of the body being closed by a rotary plug 12 having a co-operating outlet 14 for alignment with outlet 18 to effect discharge of the bag contents, and the body 10 being held against rotation by the engagement of a stop 44 thereon with a slot in the container 26. The tubular body 10 is passed through a hole in the box, piercing the plastics bag, and is retained in position, by gripping the box wall between flanges 40 and pegs 36, 38 passed through slots formed in the hole in the box, and rotating the body until the stop 44 abuts one of the slots. Again, Fig. 5, (not shown), the outlet is provided with a spout (52), and the body held against rotation relative to the box by a square shoulder (48) on the body engaging in a corresponding hole in the box.</p> |
