For laying optical-fibre cables having cross-sectional dimensions which are reduced in comparison with conventional copper cables, an insert is created using which existing cable-duct tubes can be used for a plurality of optical-fibre cables, to be precise in a simple laying method and in a configuration which can easily be sealed. In this case, a group of relatively small protection tubes are provided for the optical-fibre cables as an insert in the cable-duct tube, which protection tubes are mutually held in their position and bundle, and are circumferentially sealed, at least at one end, by means of a connecting flange.
