In a developing machine, the photographic bases (6) are moved by transport rollers (46, 47, 48) through a plurality of treatment bath containers (11, 12, 13). The invention is intended to provide a development machine which, in particular, is suitable for relatively small quantities and only occasional operation and causes no problems in guiding the baths. This is achieved when, for each treatment bath, a large transport roller (46, 47, 48) is provided, about half of which dips into the bath and which is associated with a plurality of substantially smaller contact rollers (49) distributed over the immersed periphery thereof, and when each treatment bath container (11, 12, 13) has an approximately half-cylindrical interior with a radius which is only slightly greater than the sum of the radius of the large transport roller (46, 47, 48) and the diameter of one of the contact rollers (49). <IMAGE>
