A circuit which allows a delayed switching time to be introduced into any desired light circuit via an on-off switch or other additional switching elements such as push-buttons or the like. If buildings, businesses and the like have to be left in darkness, the lighting can be programmed via switching into permanent operation or even on-off switching such that the switch switches off automatically after a predetermined time. Permanent operation or a delayed switching time can be programmed as required at any time, via the same switch. For technical-safety reasons, a high weighting must be allocated to this switching.
