The invention relates to a diagnostic X-ray device for X-ray tomograms with a couch (3), means (1) for generating an X-ray beam passing through the patient (4) lying on the couch (3) on the one side and an X-ray image intensifier (5) followed by a television chain (6, 7, 8) on the other side of the couch (3) and a device for moving the X-ray beam and the field of view of the image intensifier (5) in opposite directions to one another so that only the details lying in a particular longitudinal body layer determined by the axis of rotation of the X-ray beam are imaged sharply. The output image of the X-ray intensifier (5) is stored in an image store (9) which is preceded by a filter (10). The filter (10) only passes image details which are smaller than its maximum value. <IMAGE>
