The invention relates to a vacuum-cleaner mouthpiece having suction channels which are formed in the region of the mouthpiece base and which are in suction connection with the suction orifice (9) of the mouthpiece (1). Provided on the mouthpiece (1) is a supporting element which is vertically adjustable relative to the mouthpiece base and has a surface of a nature different from that of the mouthpiece base and which can be brought either into its working position or position of rest for cleaning a carpet or a smooth floor. An improved cleaning effect during the vacuum-cleaning of hard floors is achieved in that the mouthpiece base is subdivided into a plurality of strips (3) which extend in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the mouthpiece (1) and are provided with a soft coating (12) and between which and on the outer faces of which a plurality of runners (4) provided with a smooth and firm surface are arranged as supporting elements. The arrangement of the runners (4) is such that, in the position of rest, these are set back relative to the bearing face (7) of the strips (3) by approximately the same amount as that by which they project relative to this bearing face (7) in the working position. <IMAGE>
