The invention relates to a non-return valve for a screw injection moulding machine, which has an adjustable locking ring between two stops. In order to improve the non-return valve, the invention provides for radially directed boreholes to be introduced in the end region of the section that faces the rear stop, which boreholes open into a centric longitudinally blind borehole of the section, which extends as far as the unconstrained end of the plastification and transport screw and for the locking ring to be supported on the section and to be axially adjustable in such a manner that it completely covers the boreholes when in contact with the rear stop and releases them at least partially when in contact with the front stop.
