A process for the determination of the quantity of a product which has penetrated into the body of a mammal after the skin of said mammal has been contacted with said product for a time T0 , in which process, after the contacting of skin/product and after washing of the epidermal zone treated : there is provided on the treated zone a zone of stratum corneum ; the quantity X of the product contained in the stratum corneum is determined ; and the quantity y is deduced from the quantity X by a relation Y = aX - b with y = 0 if Y is negative or zero, and y = Y if Y is positive, a and b being predetermined positive constants in said relation and independent of the product applied to the skin, all diagnostic methods applied to the human body or to the animal body within the ambit of Article 52 (4) EPC being excluded.
