APPARATUS FOR DETECTING TERMINAL END OF ROLL SHAPED RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To simply and certainly detect the terminal end of a roll shaped recording medium, by a method wherein a member displaced corresponding to a wind-up path is provided to the magazine receiving the roll shaped recroding medium and a detection element is operated by the displacement of said member. CONSTITUTION:A displacement member 26 having a magnet 29 attached to the leading end thereof is supported by a magazine receiving a roll shaped recording medium 21 so as to be made freely revolvable around a point A and always energized to a clockwise direction by a weak spring 27. A lead switch 31 as a detection element operated by the approaching of the magnet 29 is provided to the upper external part of the magazine 24. The winding diameter of the recording medium 21 becomes small and the medium 21 is contacted with the member 26 at the position (b) shown by the broken line of the drawing while the magnet 29 approaches at the position (c) shown by the broken line to turn the switch 31 ON and the terminal end of the medium 21 is detected. Therefore, it is unnecessary to provide holes or reflection tapes to the recording medium 21 and cost can be reduced while the terminal end can be simply and certainly detected.
