PURPOSE:To effectively control the temperature of the coolest section of an outer tube by forming the top edge of the outer tube of a fluorescent lamp with inner/outer double tube structure in an angular but approximately cylindrical shape. CONSTITUTION:The temperature rise at the coolest section of an outer tube is suppressed by deforming the tip edge of the outer tube 8 of a lamp that used to be in a radial shape into an angular but cylindrical one without changing the full length and the maximum outside diameter of the outside tube. As a result, by forming the outer tube 8 in the cylinderical form, the distance between the tip edge of the outer tube liable to be the coolest section and inner tube is increased and the temperature rise at the coolest section can be suppressed. |
