<p>The device comprises an optical fibre (2) twisted along its axis and wound in solenoid fashion around the electrical conductor (1) in which the current to be measured is flowing. It also includes a source of polarised light (5) at the entrance (3) of the fibre (2) and means (7, 8, 9, 10) for measuring the angle of rotation of the plane of polarisation of this light at the exit (6) of the fibre (2). The fibre (2) consists of at least two parts twisted in opposite senses, the number of turns through which the whole fibre is twisted in one sense being equal to the number of turns in the other sense. <IMAGE></p> |
