METHOD OF INSPECT OF WEFT YARN INSPECTING APPARATUS IN THE LOOM

The loom-weft detection system becomes operative during a predetermined angle of the loom crank revolution cycle. It generates a weft-present signal during the predetermined angle. Any signals occurring outside the predetermined angle range are regarded as abnormal, and indicate weft detector faults, e.g. detector fouled by fluff of yarn waste. Specifically, any signal occurring outside the predetermined angle range is only regarded as abnormal if it is continuous or exceeds the permitted number of repeated pulses over a predetermined number of loom cycles. An alarm of stop-motion can be actuated automatically if the weft detector is sufficiently fouled by fluff so as to be unable to function correctly.
