PURPOSE:To obtain an air electrode with excellent polarization characteristics used in an air battery or a fuel cell by having metal-containing polyhydradinophthalocyanine contained in a carbon body. CONSTITUTION:An air electrode can easily be obtained by adding the metal- containing polyhydradinophthalocyanine defined by a general expression (where, X represents chrome, iron, cobalt, nickel, and copper and Pc represents phthalcyanine residual group, and n indicates an integer of 2 to 4) to the active carbon, graphite, etc. produced using carbon black such as furnace balck, channel black, and thermal black, wood, charcoal, coconut shell charocal, palm kernel charcoal, coal, petroleum residue, synthetic resin, organic waste, etc. and by extruded-molding and pressurized-molding it. It is recommendated that the loadings of metal-containing polyaminophatalocyanine on the air electrode should be 0.1 to 10wt% when considering its performance and stength as an air electrode. |
