PURPOSE:To obtain an ink with favorable print quality with favorable reproducibility, by controlling an atmospheric temperature to be constant, when producing an ink material for thermal transfer recording by mixing in a ball mill. CONSTITUTION:Ink materials such as a dye, a pigment, a low melting point material and a filler and an organic solvent are placed in a ball mill container 10 placed on rollers 9, 11, and are mixed in the ball mill. In this case, the temperature of the container 10 is maintained to be constant by cooling and heating means such as a fanned heater 14 provided in proximity to the container 10. In thus obtained ink, solubility and dispersibility of each of the materials can be conditioned to be optimum, so that the ink is uniformized and printing characteristics are made favorable. |
