PURPOSE:To make it possible to select the single direction recording in precise recording and the double-direction recording in high speed recording, in a recording apparatus wherein a recording element is mounted to a carrier, by providing a selection means for selecting the single direction recording and the double- direction recording. CONSTITUTION:When precise recording is required, a single direction recording order S is fed out to reset flip-flop FF and an AND gate A2 is opened by the output Q thereof while an AND gate A1 is closed and a character generator CG performs dot recording in the order of an odd number line and an even number line through lines O, E and the gate A2 only when a carrier CA is moved to a single direction. When high speed recording is required, a both-direction recording order command is fed out to set FF and the gate A1 is opened while the gate A2 is closed by the output Q thereof and the even number line output E of CG is reversed by a reversal circuit RE to perform recording respectively in the movement of the carrier CA in both directions. |
